Decor Aid, an interior design start-up, was approached about redesigning the living room in this Upper West Side family’s apartment.
The goal? Show off the client’s artwork and give the room a more modern feel.
The space needed to function as both a formal living room and a media space for a family of four, so the space needed to be designed to fit both of them.
They painted the room in a monochrome gray and white scheme that gave the original shape a more contemporary feel.
Decor Aid sourced a high-reflective silk wool rug from ABC Home to brighten up the room, taking inspiration from the client’s existing artwork, and adding accent pillows, trays, and decorative items to match the colors of those paintings.
Now this family has both a chic and multifunctional space to chat and relax.
