It’s one of our favorite fabrics for a simple reason. Velvet not only looks good, it is also practically indestructible. It’s luxuriously soft, which you’ll love when it’s time to snuggle up to your Netflix binge of choice. But velvet is also our favorite material for pets with pets – especially cats. Since velvet is a cut pile fabric, these dangerous kitten claws cannot be attached to them – that is, there are no threads to pull and destroy. (If you are concerned about pet hair, choose a color that is similar to your pet’s fur or is darker – white cat = ivory velvet, gray animal = gray or blue velvet). And if you have short people of the human kind in your home, you’ll find that velvet is easy to wipe clean. It’s actually one of those fabrics that looks better with age (think English mansion). Oh, and did we mention it’s soft? Already sold? Check out a small velvet sofa.
