While the future may be paperless, your current office probably isn’t. Until you are 100% digital, you need to organize your papers so that they are invisible but easily accessible. Folders are a great way to organize loose pieces of paper and keep important documents from getting out of shape.

Get personal

If you want a photo on your desk, don’t stick it on your desktop or wall. Place it in a slim frame so it doesn’t deviate too much from the overall mood you’re creating. And when you have that coveted corner office, go brave and hang up a favorite piece of art for a bit of creative inspiration at lunchtime.

Skip the trips to the office water cooler and stay hydrated with a water carafe throughout the day. But don’t be satisfied with an old mug. Your water carafe should match the rest of your stylish desk and complement the existing elements of your workspace.

And remember, practicality above everything else
No matter how stylish your desk is, it still has to be functional. Make sure you have any paper documents that you refer to frequently or any supplies that you will need on a regular basis are close at hand. An ergonomically positioned keyboard is also essential.
