Patio furniture pillows must be cleaned before placing them on your patio or porch after storing them for quite some time, where they would have accumulated dust and dirt. Removable pillow covers are quite easy to clean as they can be washed gently in a washing machine. If you do not have a pillow cover that can be removed, you must clean them thoroughly according to simple steps.
Remove dust and dirt
Pour out the compartments on the outdoor furniture and remove loose dust and dirt by using the vacuum cleaner attachment. Use the appendix carefully if you have tufted pillows.
Use a cleaning solution
Prepare a solution of detergent in hot water. Add borax solutions if the pillows have mold. Sponge the solution on the pillows and allow them to soak for 15-20 minutes. If stains are removed, soak the pillows for 30 minutes. You can mildly scrub the region where stains remain.
Rinse the pillows
Use a garden hose to rinse off the pillows. Avoid using a pressure washer to prevent damage to the fabric. Just clean the water by hanging a towel around the pillow. Air dry them completely. Make sure the moisture has been completely removed. Use a hair dryer if needed.
Use a fabric protection
When the cushions are completely dried, you can spray a cloth cover on the cushions to resist stains and dirt. This will keep your pillows clean for a long time.
