Commune Design is an LA-based design collective focused on “making life better through design”. Their collaboration has resulted in some amazing projects (like the American Trade Hotel in Panama City). The company, founded in 2004, has been described by the Los Angeles Times as “seriously handcrafted, seriously high-quality with a touch of hippie”. The online shop is full of Commune collaborations and designer finds. The only rule that Commune partner Roman Alonso told the New York Times is, “Everything must be done by hand.” The online shop has everything from lighting and furniture to floor mats and cement tiles.
