When a newly married couple moved into their first real apartment in San Francisco, they reached out to Decor Aid for assistance in converting their newly purchased home into a relaxing getaway from city life. Right from the start, our client knew they wanted to transform their Mission District apartment into a beach-inspired oasis. A summery beach house decor was the inspiration for this room: mature, oceanic, modern and luxurious.

When we got to this Mission District condo we found that none of the current decorations reflected anything our customers wanted. Dark, angular leather pieces were sparsely placed throughout the living room. The effect was cooling, economical and without color.

One of the first pieces we sourced for the room was a large photo of Gray Malin that we placed in the bedroom. The photo’s palette – calm blues and modern beiges – served as inspiration for the rest of the Beach house decor Flat.

For the common rooms in the apartment, we have created a convincing combination of neutral colors by sourcing neutral textiles and pieces of wood. We also created a home office space that can easily be converted into a kindergarten in due course.
Before, afterwards
By integrating blue accent pieces throughout the room – such as a balloon dog miniature and complementary pillows – we were able to give the room a cohesive beach house appearance. Highly polished chrome in the bedroom gives the room a high-gloss appearance to create a relaxing, mature, beach-inspired oasis.
