When it comes to choosing furniture for a room, the impulses of many people can lead them to consider things like color, material, shape and comfort. While all of these factors are indeed important and should not be overlooked, they are not the first things to consider. Before you rush to the furniture store, consider the size of your room.
“Never overlook the power of scale and proportions,” our designers advise. “Take serious note of what may suit your space appropriately and attractively.” If your prewar shoebox apartment looks crowded with the section you were looking at – fear not! You may find that four armchairs look better and work just as well.
