Breathtaking Transformation One 57

Along Central Park South is One57, a towering architectural treasure nicknamed “The Billionaire Building”. Located between Sixth and Seventh Streets in Manhattan’s famous Midtown neighborhood, this building is the epitome of New York City. After purchasing a condo on one of the upper floors of the building, a Silicon Valley tech investor turned to Decor Aid for help creating an interior worthy of this beautiful modern residence.

When we arrived, our New York interior designers were impressed by floor-to-ceiling windows with great views of Central Park, which immediately turned out to be one of the main features of the apartment. We knew the windows would be our defining design inspiration and our greatest design challenge. We decided to create a modern, unique and colorful space with flat silhouettes to accentuate the view.

The living area was the first room on our list. Our designers have sourced a lush carpet from ABC Carpet, which sets the stage for a fascinatingly classic and contemporary neutral palette. Add a stylish coffee table and trendy but comfy armchairs from Holly Hunt that accentuate the color palette, and add a duet of orange leather table lamps from Armani / Casa that adds a touch of orange that is reflected throughout the living room.

Continuing the classic contemporary theme, our interior designers from Holly Hunt provided a round marble table framed by four Dennis Miller chairs. Edelman leather was used to re-upholster the dining room chairs, adding to the flow of this comfortable, elegant home. A branching Lindsey Adelman chandelier with crystalline spheres for an unobstructed view was installed that helped the room break away from the living space and set up the dining area.

The master bedroom has fantastic views, like most of the apartment, yet felt dark and bleak. So our interior designers set out to brighten up the room. Although the rich dark brown furniture was made to retain a touch of masculinity, we arranged several items in light blues and oranges to add pops of color. Our customer can now wake up refreshed and ready every morning.

Before and after

Our client travels to New York City for work once a month. That’s why we’ve set up an active work area with a Desiron desk and office chair from Design Within Reach. To give this spectacular apartment a suitable entrance, we have moved a Christa console table and bench from Holly Hunt, which will delight every visitor and round off the interior of the entire house. The end result was a dynamic and contemporary space ready for our clients’ next work or vacation trip to New York City.
