New York Spring House Tour

New York Spring House Tour

light-flooded dining room

Here at Décor Aid we are honored to be a part of New York Junior League Spring House Tour featuring the city’s most prestigious residences. We were thrilled to share the colon rehabilitation project we did on our client’s five story brownstone in Manhattan’s Turtle Bay neighborhood.

Even among the extraordinary homes highlighted on the tour, that is Décor Aid Brownstone was one of the largest and most anticipated properties. Visitors were particularly impressed by the abundance of inconspicuous storage space in the house – a definite luxury in New York. Customers wanted a clean, uncluttered appearance, so our designer designer built in storage space that is hidden behind custom floor-to-ceiling wall units.

Visitors were also impressed by the beautiful walnut wood used throughout the house, including wall panels that hide a bar off the front parlor in the first floor passage when not in use. The kitchen on the second floor has elegant walnut furniture and a specially curved built-in bench on the kitchen dining table.

Perhaps the ultimate wow factor is the master suite on the top floor of the house, which includes a luxurious floor-to-ceiling Carrara marble bathroom, floating wooden vanity, sculptural bathtub, and separate shower with a rainfall showerhead. The sunny master bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows and sleek neutral textiles with warm wood accents and glamorous mid-century lighting.
